と、むかしの人が言います。
さてさて、おおやアート村BIGLABOで、
美味しい＆楽しいネギ焼きまつりが
ありますよ〜♪
I remember old people saying“Winter frost makes leek sweet.”
Then we would like to announce about event of leeks at BIGLABO.

なんなのですか？
という疑問にお答えするべく、
本場・スペインのカタルーニャ州バイス市商工会が
発行しているパンフレット（英語版）を、
ご紹介しましょう。
このパンフレットは、新井厚子（あらい・あつこ）さんが
日本へ持ち帰ってくださったものです。

The Calçotada in Valls is a perfect balance of cuisine and tradition.
It is a culinary art:a long sweet onion grilled over an open fire, a sauce with a thousand delicate flavours, fresh coutry bread, a full-bodied red wine, tender lamb and traditional sausage grilled to just the right point...
A kaleidoscope of flavours and feelings that lures thousands of people to Valls with the first throws of winter weather.
バイス市のカルソターダは、食と文化の完璧な調和である。食のアートである。
戸外で焼いた長い甘いネギ、数えきれないほどの複雑な味わいのフレイバーでつくられたソース、
新鮮なパン、フルボディのずっしりした赤ワイン、ほどよくあぶられた柔らかい子羊の肉と伝統的なソーセージ。
冬の最初のおとずれを感じたら、もう、人々はぞくぞくと、バイスへと、ありとあらゆる香りと味わいへと引き寄せられる。

From November to April, the calçot is the undisputed king of the table.
Once tried, never forgetten, as locals have well known for over a hundred years.
Since the Vallenc Xat de Benaiges discovered the secret of shaping and growing these unique onions,
the air of Valls has filled with their exceptional sweet scent as here and there groups of friends and relatives enjoy each other's company.
Every year, on the last Sunday of January, Valls holds the “Gran Festa de la Calçotada”, a festival full of activities related to calçots:
cooking demonstrations, and competitions to see who has grown the best calçots, produced the best sauce or who can eat greatest number of calçots in the shortest time!
１１月から４月にかけて、カルソッツは、文句なしに、食卓の王者である。地元の人々が百年以上ものあいだよくよく知っているように、これは、一度食べたら、忘れられなくなる。
Vallenc Xat de Benaiges が、この特殊なネギの栽培法の秘密を発見して以来、バイスのあちらこちらから、友達や家族・親戚のあつまりでたのしむ、すばらしく甘い香りが、ただようようになった。
毎年、一月の最後の日曜日に、バイスは、カルソッツに関するいろんなイベントがもりだくさんの「カルソターダまつり」を開催する。
調理のデモンストレーション、誰が一番いいカルソッツを育てたかという品評会、自家製ソースのコンテスト、短時間でどのくらいの数のネギを食べられるかという早食い大会などが、催される。
