糸の交差する場所。 crossing yarns

パパと、こども３人で、
さをり織りをしました。
一番ちいさいひとは、
パパのひざに乗っています。
A father and his children did SAORI-ORI weaving.
The youngest is on father's legs.

おねえちゃんが、いもうとに
横糸をわたします。
いもうとが、横糸を縦糸のすきまにくぐらせます。
おにいちゃんが、いもうとから、
横糸をうけとります。
いもうとが、ぐうっと手をのばして、
とん、とするのと同時に、
パパが、足でペダルをふんで、
横糸をはさみます。
The eldest passes the woof to younger sister,
younger sister let the woof go through the warp,
brother catches the woof at the other side.
Younger sister draws heddle and the moment
father pedals to cross the yarn.

こどもさんの年齢は、
おねえちゃんが小３、おにいちゃんが小２、
いもうとさんが５才だそうです。
Their age is 3rd grader, 2nd grader and 5 years old.

となりで、ベルトを織っているのは、
中国から来られた留学生です。
BIGLABOで、さをり織りのワークショップの助手を
するのが、二回目の彼女は、とても上手！
Next to the family, the assistant of the workshop is weaving for a belt.
She came from China, now studying at university in Japan.
This is 2nd time for her to be an assistant at BIGLABO,
so she is good at weaving.

自分で選んだ縦糸を、機にかけるやりかたを習って、
織っているひともいます。
She learned how to put the woof on the loom.

袋をつくりたい、というご希望で、
ニュアンスのある生地が織りあがりつつあります!!
She is going to make a couple of poach or bag,
they may be beautiful!!

織っているあいだは、
初対面のひと同士でも、
不思議な連帯感がうまれます。
なんとなく仲良くなったり、
おとなりのひとの色合いに影響されたり。
さよならのときは、おたがいに、
笑顔で手をふります。
「またね」
While weaving, they share same place and have sympathy for each others.
They sometimes get to be like friends
find theirselves to use same yarn that the next one used.
They show smiles to new friends and say "See you again."
