さをり織りののれん weave a shop curtain

先日のワークショップに参加して、
勝純美（かつ・すみ）先生に
さをり織りの技法をしっかりと習ったかたが、
来られました。
今日は、先生のいらっしゃらない日ですが、
織りかけの布を仕上げる、ということで
さをり織りの部屋へと向かわれました。
A woman visited BIGLABO to finish her weaving work.
She has learned SAORI-ORI weaving at the last workshop by Sumi KATSU.
The teacher will not come here today,
but she tried her work alone.

織りあがったところです。
It is done.

この布で、のれんを作るのだそうです。
とちゅうで半分にきって、
二枚にして、のれんにするという構想です。
She is going to make a shop curtain.
Cutting into 2 pieces of cloth, and then she will saw them into a shop curtain.

はしの余り糸の始末をしているところ。
フリンジは、シンプルに結ぶだけにしました。
布じたいの、ぽこぽこした糸の質感や、
魅力的な色の変化が、より引き立つと思います。
She is finishing the ends of the yarns.
The cloth will be nice with the simple frindges.
It has unique touch of yarns and also beautiful colors.

糸の始末をしながら、お話をうかがいました。
She talked about weaving.

勝先生のワークショップに参加してみて、
仕上がるまでは、どんな作品になるのかわからないのが、
さをり織りだ、とわかりました。
思い通りにならないことや、アクシデント、
それじたいも、たのしむのですね。
それでも、織りたい、作りたいもののイメージを
持ち続けて、それに近づけようと努力しました。
After joinning the workshop by Sumi KATSU,
now she understands that we could not know how the work will be until it is done, this is SAORI-ORI weaving.
She enjoyed her work even it was not as she had expected or in some accidents,
although she continued to try to make her ideas come true.

…といったことを、穏やかな笑顔でおっしゃいました。
She talked that with peaceful smile.

さて。
仕上げた作品の重さを、量ります。
この重さで、料金が、決まります。
Then we put the cloth on the scale.
She pays by weight.

さをり織りのワークショップでは、
講師料　　　300円
施設使用料　300円
糸代　　　　〜 円
をあわせた金額を、いただきます。
講師の先生がおられない時は、
施設使用料300円と、完成した作品の糸代のみです。
Workshop of SAORI-ORI
the charge is
\300 for teacher
\300 for BIGLABO
and more for the yarn-by weight
In case when there are not the teacher
the charge is only for BIGLABO and for yarn.

次回のさをり織りのワークショップは、
１０月２６日（土）午後
１０月２７日（日）１０時〜１５時
の予定です。
