英語の先生、さをり織りに挑戦。 ALTs tried SAORI-ORI weaving

勝純美（かつ・すみ）先生、
今日は個性的な縦糸をはっています。
Sumi KATSU the instructor of the workshop in SAORI-ORI weaving is setting the warp.
Today's warp is unique and beautiful.

今日のさをり織りのワークショップは、
予約していたお客さまのほかに、
予想外の来客がありました。
中国からの留学生で、毎年夏に、さをり織りに
参加してくださるお客さまがいますが、
今日のお客さまは、アメリカと、ニュージーランド出身です。
We expected 1 visitor by appointment, except the visitor,
2 joinned the workshop of weaving.
They are ALTs from USA, New Zealand.
We have had a guest from China twice in weaving,
but this is the first time to have foreign guests except for her.

先生にひととおりおそわったあとは、
もう、すいすい織っておられました。
The man wove very well after short lesson by KATSU.
まよった時には、横から見ている友達が、
「右」「踏んで」
とか指示しています。
さをり織りの文化が国際化していく、瞬間。
When he loses the process, the friend beside him gives the direction.
In such ways--"Right." "Step now."
I see the moment one of Japanese culture SAORI-ORI getting global,
it is excited.

受講生のおひとりは、
「家でひとりで織るのとちがいますね〜、
　みんなといっしょだと楽しいです」
とおっしゃっていました。
One said,
"It is very different from weaving home alone,
It is fun to weave together here."

糸が交差する場所、にはひとの出会いがあります。
さをり織りって、ほんとうにおもしろいです。
We can meet someone new when we are going to cross the yarns.
Weaving is interesting!
