新年さいしょのお客さま exchange student's first weaving

新年最初のお客さまは、暮れにいらっしゃった、
ミス・フィオンでした。
今日は、さをり織りを体験しに来られました。
The first guest of the year 2014 is Miss. Fion, who visited here last year.
Today she trys SAORI-ORI weaving.

ミス・フィオンにつきそって来られた、
和田山ライオンズのかたも、
「さをり織り」というものをご存じなかったようです。
はじめて機（はた）を見た、と言って、
珍しそうに、勝純美（かつ・すみ）先生の作品や、
室内の写真を撮っていました。
The man escorted Miss. Fion had not known SAORI-ORI.
He was interested in the real looms and the beautiful works of weaving by Sumi KATSU, took photos.

ミス・フィオンは、横糸を選んでくださいと言うと、
「どの糸がおすすめ？」
と聞いたりして、慎重でした。
でも、糸の手触りや素材もたしかめて、
自分の好きな糸を選んでみてね、というと、
ようやく、自分好みの糸を選び始めました。
Miss. Fion was careful in selecting the yarn for the woof,
she asked me which yarn I recommended.
I said every yarn has its own touch, each material, and then
she selected her favorite yarn.

赤が好きだそうです。あと、
「キラキラが必要！」
She likes red. and girls need something shining.

織りかたをちょっと習っただけで、
すぐコツをつかんだミス・フィオン。
After short lecture, she alreadey got to be a good weaver!
She seemed to get the skills quite easily.

スタッフのデザインの助けを借りて、
「FION」と刺繍しました。
With the staff's help in her design,
I sew her name FION on the cloth.

ミス・フィオンと、和田山ライオンズクラブ様に、
篤く御礼申し上げます。
ミス・フィオンは、2013年最後のお客さまであると同時に、
2014年最初のお客さまでした。
彼女にとって、はじめての出来事とそれにともなう感動を
いっしょに体験させていただけて、光栄です。
